Villa Paraiso sits a short ride from Ometepe's main attractions: both volcanoes, the Ojo de Agua, Charco Verde, and Punta Jesús María. Tell us what you want to see, and the front desk will organize your day with local guides who have known this island all their lives.

Tour to the volcanos:

On this tour you will be able to observe the species of howler monkeys and capuchin monkeys, birds such as magpies, parrots, chocoyos and much more. It will also be possible to observe numerous butterflies and tropical wild plants and endemic orchids such as the wonderful (Gunnera insignis). When you reach the top of the volcano, you will be able to see the spectacular silhouette of Ometepe Island or also the impressive Maderas lagoon located in the center of the crater where you can swim and enjoy the exuberant nature.

Duration: around 8-10 hours.

Includes: Lunch Packet and bottle of water.

Required: Good physical condition, closed and strong shoes, repellent, 1 cold coat, sunscreen and cap or hat. If you have a special medical condition bring your own medications and inform your guide before the tour.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: HIGH

If you like hiking, this is your place! We take you to the crater of the second highest volcano in Nicaragua (1610 m.a.s.l.) or to the magical lagoon of the Maderas volcano (1,394 m.a.s.l.)

Tour Cultural:

Immerse yourself in the local culture and history by visiting:

- El Ceibo Museum.
- Punta Jesús María

Duration: 7 hrs.

Entrance fees to the different sites are not included.
Required: Repellent, sunscreen, hat, swimsuit for Ojo de Agua and Punta Jesus Maria, bring water. If you have a special medical condition, bring your own medications and inform your guide before leaving.

Kayaking Tour:

Explore Ometepe’s wetlands by kayak and spot a wide variety of migratory and resident birds, including kingfishers, tiger herons, common herons, and pichés. The wetlands create a unique natural spectacle, where you may also see caimans, turtles, and uncommon aquatic plants.

Duration: 2 hours.

Includes: Transportation and a specialized guide from Hotel Villa Paraíso.

What to bring: Insect repellent, sunscreen, a cap or hat, a waterproof bag for your belongings, and water. If you have a medical condition, bring your medication and inform your guide before departure.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: EASY.

Petroglyphs Tour:

This tour offers an opportunity to learn about the Indigenous cultures that once lived on Ometepe Island. Walk along the slopes of Maderas Volcano, discover petroglyphs among the natural surroundings, and learn their history while enjoying the local flora and fauna.

Duration: 2 hours.

Includes: Transportation and a specialized guide from Hotel Villa Paraíso.

What to bring: Walking shoes, insect repellent, sunscreen, a cap or hat, and water. If you have a medical condition, bring your medication and inform your guide before departure.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: EASY.

Peña Inculta Tour:

Explore the isthmus of Ometepe Island on this tour, surrounded by tropical forest and a refreshing climate. Keep an eye out for wildlife such as howler and capuchin monkeys, along with numerous wild birds, including yellow-naped parrots.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes.

What to bring: Closed-toe shoes, long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, insect repellent, and water.

Departure times: 6:30 AM and 4:30 PM.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: EASY.

San Ramón Waterfall Tour:

On the San Ramón Waterfall tour, on the slopes of Maderas Volcano, you may spot howler and capuchin monkeys, birds such as magpies, parrots, and chocoyos, and much more. Look for numerous butterflies and tropical wild plants, including some endemic species. At the waterfall, cool off and enjoy the natural surroundings.

Includes: Private transportation, a packed lunch, and a specialized local guide.

Duration: 4–5 hours.

Departure time: 9:00 AM.

What to bring: Good physical fitness, sturdy closed-toe shoes, insect repellent, sunscreen, and a cap or hat. If you have a medical condition, bring your medication and inform your guide before departure.

Maderas Volcano Viewpoint Tour:
